Seventy-two patients with frozen shoulder were randomized to receive either an intra-articular steroid injection (IASI) (n=36) or an ultrasound-guided supra-scapular nerve block (SSNB) (n=36). The primary outcome of interest was the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) score. Secondary outcomes included pain intensity, disability index, external rotation, and abduction range of motion. Outcomes were assessed at baseline, one week, three weeks, and six weeks post-intervention. Overall, the results revealed that SSNB led to significantly greater improvements in SPADI scores and range of motion compared to IASI at all follow-up points (p<0.001). The study suggests that SSNB is more effective than IASI in managing frozen shoulder.
