No Effects of Early Viscosupplementation After Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

OE Journal. 2017;5(12):11 Am J Sports Med. 2016 Dec;44(12):3119-312590 patients with a meniscus tear scheduled for arthroscopic partial meniscectomy were randomized to either receive or not receive an intra-articular injection of hyaluronic acid at the end of the procedure. Patients were followed up for clinical scores, transpatellar circumference, and knee range of motion over 60-180 days postoperatively. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups in any outcome measure at any time point.
