Analgesic efficacy of inter-semispinal fascial plane block in Patients undergoing Cervical Spine Surgery through Posterior Approach: a randomized controlled trial.
Anaesth Crit Care Pain Med . 2023 Aug;42(4):101213.52 patients undergoing cervical spine surgery were randomized to receive either a bilateral inter-semispinal plane block (ISPB; n=26) or control (n=26). Outcomes of interest include pain on a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), time to first rescue analgesic, total morphine dose, intraoperative total fentanyl dose, and the incidence of complications. NRS pain scores up to 12 hours and opioid consumption after 24 hours were significantly better in the ISPB group. Similarly, the incidence of nausea and vomiting, and sedation were significantly lower in the ISPB group.
