Intra-articular hyaluronic acid after knee arthroscopy: a two-year study
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2007 May;15(5):537-4680 patients undergoing arthroscopic joint lavage for knee osteoarthritis were randomized to either receive instillation of hyaluronic acid (HA) solution following arthroscopy, or to receive no HA treatment. The primary outcomes of interest were VAS pain scores recorded by both patient and the study investigator. Secondary outcomes included a patient global assessment, and an assessment of difficulty walking 100 meters. There was no significant difference between groups in the primary outcome of mean pain over the first 2 weeks postoperatively.
