Group Versus Individual Physical Therapy for Veterans With Knee Osteoarthritis: Randomized Clinical Trial

320 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee were randomized to either a group-based or individual-based exercise physiotherapy program. The purpose of this study was to determine if a group-based regimen resulted in significantly improved patient pain, function, physical performance, and satisfaction when compared to individualized therapy over a 24-week follow-up period. the results fo this trial demonstrated that although patients in both groups significantly improved in all primary and secondary outcomes of interest when compared to baseline, between-group differences were not significant.
