Improved side-to-side anterior laxity with the anatomic double-bundle ACL reconstruction .
Clinical Evaluation of Anatomic Double-Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Procedure Using Hamstring Tendon Grafts: Comparisons Among 3 Different Procedures
Arthroscopy. 2006 Mar;22(3):240-5172 patients with unilateral anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)-deficient knees were randomised to one of three groups for treatment. The patients underwent either a non-anatomic single- or double-bundle ACL reconstruction compared to anatomic double-bundle ACL reconstruction. Clinical outcomes were observed. The results indicated that the double-bundle ACL reconstruction intervention resulted in significant improvements in side-to-side anterior laxity compared to the other groups. However, no significant differences were seen in the other outcomes measured.
