Improved hip-flexor strength after hip-flexion training program for injury prevention .
Large strengthening effect of a hip-flexor training programme: a randomized controlled trial
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2016 Jul;24(7):2346-5233 healthy individuals were randomized to undergo either a hip-flexor training program using elastic resistance bands or a control group receiving no additional treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine whether a 10-minute hip-flexor training program performed 3 times a week for a duration of 6 weeks is able to provide greater isometric hip-flexion strength compared to a no treatment control group. Therapy was performed only on the dominant leg of the individuals undergoing the training program. Outcomes were assessed at 3 to 5 days after the end of treatment.The findings of this study indicated significantly improved hip-flexion strength in the dominant leg of the exercise group compared to the control group.
