A randomized clinical trial comparing immediate active motion with immobilization after tendon transfer for claw deformity
J Hand Surg Am. 2009 Mar;34(3):488-94, 494.e1-550 patients with claw deformities, who underwent tendon transfer treatment, were randomized to rehabilitation with an immediate active mobilization protocol (IAMP) or immobilization. At one year follow-up, both treatments had produced similar clinical outcomes; however, the IAMP group required shorter rehabilitation stays and demonstrated a quicker reduction in total pain.
