Comparison between 200 mg QD and 100 mg BID oral celecoxib in the treatment of knee or hip osteoarthritis
Sci Rep. 2015 May 27;5:1059324 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with a total of 11,696 patients were included in this meta-analysis to compare the efficacy and safety of 100 mg BID and 200 mg QD oral celecoxib in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee or hip. Pooled results demonstrated no significant difference between the 200 mg QD and 100 mg BID group in terms of pain intensity and function improvement. However, 100 mg BID oral celecoxib is preferred over the 200 mg QD oral celecoxib dosage regimen due to lower risk of abdominal pain and lower incidence of skin adverse effects.
