Prospective randomized comparison of high-flex and standard rotating platform total knee arthroplasty
J Arthroplasty. 2011 Sep;26(6 Suppl):28-34. doi: 10.1016/j.arth.2011.03.045. Epub 2011 Jul 1142 patients were randomized to assess whether the rotating platform (RP) high-flex design provided improved flexion when compared to the standard RP total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Patients received either RP flex (RP-F) or RP TKA and were assessed after 1 year. No difference in flexion or clinical outcome was observed at any time point between the two treatments. However, the RP high-flex design was associated with higher cases of complications in comparison to the standard RP treatment.
