199 children with deformed closed long bone fractures were randomized to either receive a standard concentration of intranasal fentanyl (SINF) or a high concentration of INF (HINF) to determine if there were any differences in efficacy of the two concentrations. Following assessments in the paediatric emergency department (ED) over a 30 minute period, the results displayed that both the SINF (50 ug/mL) and HINF (300 ug/mL) concentrations provided children with deformed closed long bone fractures in the ED with similar improvements in pain.
