Arthroscopic reconstruction ofthe anterior cruciate ligament with hamstring tendon autograft and fresh-frozen allograft: A prospective, randomized controlled study

OE Journal. 2013;1(8):25 Am J Sports Med; 2011; 39:1430-1438204 employees with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries were randomized to receive reconstruction based on either hamstring tendon autograft or allograft. The results of the 4 year follow up indicated that there were no significant differences observed in all outcomes measured, which included functional knee ligament testing, KT-2000 arthrometer testing, Harner vertical jump and Daniel 1-legged hop tests, Lysholm score, and the Tegner score. However, it was found that the autograft procedure was significantly longer in comparison to the allograft procedure (P=0.016).
