Evaluating the Impact of Flossing Band Integration in Conventional Physiotherapy for Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome.

Fifty patients with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome were randomized to receive either conventional physiotherapy alone (n=25) or conventional physiotherapy with additional flossing band therapy (n=25). The primary outcome of interest was pain reduction, measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Secondary outcomes included knee functionality, lower extremity function, and muscle strength, assessed using the Kujala Anterior Knee Pain Scale (AKPS), the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS), and dynamometry, respectively. Outcomes were assessed at baseline and after 8 weeks of intervention. Overall, the results revealed that while both groups showed significant improvements in all outcomes, the group receiving flossing band therapy demonstrated superior improvements in pain, knee functionality, muscle strength, and lower extremity function. The study suggests that incorporating flossing band therapy into conventional physiotherapy may offer a more effective treatment strategy for PFPS.
