Patient-reported outcomes after fixed- versus mobile-bearing total knee replacement: A MULTI-CENTRE RANDOMISED CONTROLLED TRIAL USING THE KINEMAX TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2008 Sep;90(9):1172-9.242 patients (250 knees) between the ages of 40 to 80 scheduled to undergo total knee replacement (TKR) due to underlying osteoarthritis (OA) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were randomized to the use of a fixed bearing or a mobile bearing prosthesis for the surgery. Two-years post-operatively, no statistically significant differences were identified in any of the patient-reported outcome scores between patients who received the fixed-bearing or the mobile-bearing prosthesis.
