Efficacy of EZStep in the management of plantar fasciitis: a prospective, randomized study

OE Journal. 2013;1(17):2 Foot Ankle Spec. 2011 Aug;4(4):218-21. doi: 10.1177/1938640011407318198 patients with plantar fasciitis were randomized to receive 1 of 3 treatment modalities to determine the efficacy of a novel foot brace (the EZstep) in alleviating heel pain. Patients either received nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and wore an EZStep foot brace, or received NSAIDs while undergoing physiotherapy, or received NSAIDs, physiotherapy, and local steroid injections. Following assessments over a 24 week period, the results displayed that over 85% of patients noticed a significant improvement in symptom reduction of plantar fasciitis when using the EZStep while taking NSAIDs.
