Ultrasound-Guided Erector Spinae Plane Block and Trapezius Muscle Injection for Myofascial Pain Syndrome.

Sixty patients with myofascial pain syndrome were randomized to receive repeated trapezius muscle injections (TMI, n=30) or a TMI followed by an erector spinae plane block (ESPB). The primary outcome of interest was pain measured with a visual analogue scale. In both groups, the VAS scores decreased significantly from baseline. The combined TMI and ESPB group demonstrated significantly lower VAS scores at 2, 3 and 4 weeks post intervention.
