90 patients with chronic lumbar radicular pain were randomized to undergo either epidural neurolysis or placebo treatment to determine the efficacy of the epidural neurolysis procedure. Disability and pain outcomes were assessed for 12 months following the intervention. Results indicated that outcomed were significantly better in patients who had undergone the epidural neurolysis procedure at all follow-up time points during the study compared to patients who had undergone the placebo treatment.
