Electromagnetic Navigation in Total Knee Arthroplasty-A Single Center, Randomized, Single-Blind Study Comparing the Results With Conventional Techniques

J Arthroplasty. 2015 Feb;30(2):199-205.

200 patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty were randomized to either electromagnetic computer-assisted navigation or conventional instrumentation. The purpose of the study was to determine whether accuracy of component positioning, mechanical alignment, and combined component rotation significantly differed between the two groups. Furthermore, range of motion, American Knee Society, Oxford Knee Score, SF-36, VAS, and complication rates were also evaluated. There was no significant difference between groups in any of the outcomes.
