Ultrasound-guided versus blind subacromial—subdeltoid bursa injection in adults with shoulder pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis

OE Journal. 2016;4(7):25 Semin Arthritis Rheum. 2015 Dec;45(3):374-87 randomized controlled trials, including 445 patients, were analysed to evaluate the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided (UGI) versus "blind" landmark-guided subacromial-subdeltoid bursa corticosteroid injection for the treatment of adult patients with shoulder pain. Pooled outcomes included pain, disability, function, and shoulder range of motion. Results indicated that there was significant difference in favour of USG injection for all measured outcomes.
