Efficacy of Telerehabilitation For Patients After Hip Fracture Surgery .
Efficacy of telerehabilitation for patients after hip fracture surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
J Telemed Telecare . 2025 Feb;31(2):174-183.Seven randomized controlled trials including 364 patients after hip fracture surgery were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing telerehabilitation versus usual care. Pooled outcomes of interest included mobility, ADL, all adverse events, pain, health-related quality of life, and fall efficacy scale score. Pooled results showed very uncertain effects on mobility, pain, and adverse events. A statistically significant but not clinically meaningful improvement was seen in ADL. Telerehabilitation may slightly improve fall efficacy. These findings suggest that while telerehabilitation may improve patients’ confidence in avoiding falls, its benefits on functional recovery remain unclear.
