The Determination of the Efficacy of Neural Therapy in Conservative Treatment-resistant Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain.
Spine. 2021 Jul 15;46(14): E752-E759.Fifty patients with chronic low back pain resistant to conservative therapy were randomized to receive a single trigger point injection (n=25) or 5 sessions of neural therapy over a week (n=25). The outcomes of interest included pain during activities on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ). Outcomes were assessed at 1, 3, and 6 months post-injection. Results of the study demonstrated significantly lower VAS pain scores at 1, 3 and 6 months, as well as significantly favourable RMDQ scores at 3 and 6 months, in the neural therapy group compared to the trigger point group (p<0.001 for all).
