Ultrasound-Guided Hyaluronic Acid Injections for Trigger Finger: A Double-Blinded, Randomized Controlled Trial

OE Journal. 2016;4(6):22 Arch Phys Med Rehabil. 2015 Dec;96(12):2120-736 patients (39 digits) with trigger finger were randomized to receive ultrasound-guided (UG) hyaluronic acid (HA) injection therapy or standard UG steroid injection therapy. The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical effects of HA therapy by means of measuring Quinnell trigger finger scale score, pain, active motion and grip strength when compared to steroid therapy. Results demonstrated that UG injection of HA had comparable clinical effects to steroid injection.
