Effects of Suspension Exercise Training In The Treatment of Lumbar Disk Herniation .
Effects of suspension exercise training in the treatment of lumbar disk herniation: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Front Neurol . 2024 Dec 2:15:1455505.This systematic review and meta-analysis included 11 studies involving 943 patients with lumbar disk herniation. The analysis compared suspension exercise training (SET) with other interventions. Pooled outcomes included the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain, the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score for neurological function, and the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) for disability. SET significantly improved VAS scores, JOA scores, and ODI scores. Subgroup analysis showed better efficacy when SET was combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Despite the positive effects, heterogeneity was high for the JOA and ODI scores. The findings suggest that SET is a promising non-surgical treatment for LDH, but further research is needed to refine its application across different patient populations.
