Effectiveness of Fracture Liaison Services For Hip Fractures: A Meta-Analysis .
The effectiveness of fracture liaison services in patients with hip fractures: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Heliyon . 2023 Oct 10;9(10):e20838.This systematic review and meta-analysis included 12 studies with 2136 patients who had suffered hip fractures. The research compared the effectiveness of fracture liaison services (FLS) versus standard care. Pooled outcomes of interest included hip function, rate of recurrent fractures, medication adherence, and degree of frailty. Results demonstrated significant improvements in hip function, increased medication adherence, decreased degree of frailty, and reduced rate of recurrent fractures. These findings suggest that FLS can significantly enhance the prognosis of patients with hip fractures by improving functional outcomes, reducing fracture recurrence, and increasing medication compliance.
