Comparison of Short-Term Effects of Different Spinal Manipulations in Patients with Chronic Non-Specific Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

One hundred eighty-six patients with chronic non-specific neck pain were randomized to receive either UCS manipulation (n=93) or CCT manipulation (n=93). The primary outcome was neck disability, while secondary outcomes included pain intensity and cervical range of motion (CROM). Outcomes were measured at baseline and one week post-intervention. Overall, the study found that the CCT group showed a statistically significant improvement in neck disability compared to the UCS group. However, no significant differences were observed between groups for pain intensity or CROM. The findings suggest that CCT manipulation may be more effective for reducing disability, though both interventions improve symptoms short-term.
