Efficacy of kinesio taping on isokinetic quadriceps torque in knee osteoarthritis: a double blinded randomized controlled study

OE Journal. 2014;2(21):33 Physiother Theory Pract. 2014 Aug;30(6):375-8340 patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to evaluate the effect of Kinesio Taping (KT) on isokinetic quadriceps torque, as compared against a sham intervention. Patients were assessed based on isokinetic quadriceps torque (concentric and eccentric at 90 and 120 degrees/second), standardized stair-climbing task (SSCT) and VAS pain during SSCT. The evidence presented in this trial indicated significant improvements, with a large effect size, in peak quadriceps torque (concentric and eccentric at 90 and 120 degrees per second), in standardized stair-climbing task (SSCT), and pain during SSCT for the KT as compared to the sham group.
