Effects of Dry Needling in Teres Major Muscle in Elite Handball Athletes. A Randomised Controlled Trial.
J Clin Med. 2021 Sep 20;10(18): 4260.Thirty elite male handball athletes with shoulder pain were randomized to receive a single session of dry needling therapy into the teres major muscle (n=15) or no treatment (n=15). The outcomes of interest included shoulder pain, range of motion, muscle strength, and extensibility, and were assessed after the completion of the treatment session. Results revealed significant improvements in pain, internal rotation and extensibility in the dry needling group compared to the control group.
