Randomized Controlled Trial of Early Zoledronic Acid in Men With Castration-Sensitive Prostate Cancer and Bone Metastases: Results of CALGB 90202 (Alliance)

OE Journal. 2020;8(16):16 J Clin Oncol. 2014 Apr 10;32(11):1143-50. doi: 10.1200/JCO.2013.51.6500.Six hundred and forty-five patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer and bone metastases were randomized to either early administration of zoledronic acid or standard administration of zoledronic acid initiated following progression to castration-sensitive disease. The purpose was to determine whether early treatment would reduce time to developing a skeletal-related event (SREs) compared to standard treatment. Results indicated similar median time to first SRE, median time to PFS, overall survival, and incidence of adverse events.
