A Comparison of the Direct Outcomes of Percutaneous Needle Fasciotomy and Limited Fasciectomy for Dupuytren's Disease: A 6-Week Follow-Up Study

OE Journal. 2013;1(12):137 J Hand Surg Am. 2006 May-Jun;31(5):717-25121 patients (125 hands; 166 rays) with Dupuytren's disease were randomised to undergo either percutaneous needle fasciotomy (PNF) or limited fasciotomy (LF) treatment. The primary outcome was total passive extension deficit (TPED). Results at the 6-week follow-up indicated that the PNF procedure was less effective as a treatment overall, producing a smaller reduction in TPED when compared to LF. However, PNF provided good and comparable short-term outcomes in patients with Tubiana Grade I or II.
