OE Journal. 2014;2(20):24 J Bodyw Mov Ther. 2014 Jul;18(3):390-8Data from 5 RCTs was reviewed and pooled to examine the efficacy of dry needling in the treatment of myofascial trigger points (MTrPs). The analysis was based on VAS pain intensity and activity outcomes. The evidence presented in this meta-analysis and systematic review indicated no significant benefit of dry needling when compared against a placebo or lidocaine.
