Dry Needling at Myofascial Trigger Points of the Upper Trapezius for Chronic Neck Pain .
Changes in stiffness at active myofascial trigger points of the upper trapezius after dry needling in patients with chronic neck pain: a randomized controlled trial
Acupunct Med. 2022 Jun 28;9645284221104831Sixty patients with chronic neck pain were randomized to either the dry needling arm (n=32) or the sham dry needling arm (n=28). The primary outcome of this trial was to determine the local shear wave speed and Young's modulus, and pain pressure threshold. No secondary outcomes were recorded for this study. The results of this trial showed significant differences in the control point after 10 minutes, as well as the myofascial trigger point (MTrP). No significant differences were noted between the control point and MTrP after the intervention in either group.
