7 randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing functional outcomes and retear rate between single-row and double-row rotator cuff repair. Previous meta-analyses on this topic have been limited by the inclusion of lower-level evidence, highlighting the need for this study. The results from this meta-analysis demonstrated a lower incidence of partial-thickness retear and higher UCLA activity score with double-row repair, but no significant differences in other functional outcome measures, including ASES, Constant, and WORC scores when compared to single-row repair.
