Double-row rotator cuff repair demonstrates cost-efficacy vs single-row .
Double-Row Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Is More Cost-Effective Than Single-Row Repair
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2017 Oct 18;99(20):1730-173690 patients with a rotator cuff tear and scheduled for arthroscopic repair were randomized to either double-row or single-row repair. Cost and health utility data were collected as part of a cost-utility analysis comparing the two repair techniques. Despite higher estimated costs with double-row repair, the difference in quality-adjusted life years gained resulted in probabilities exceeding 85% for double-row repair being cost-effective compared to single-row repair at willingness-to-pay thresholds of $50,000 and $100,000CAD.
