Double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using hamstring autografts and bioabsorbable interference screw fixation: Prospective, randomized, clinical study with 2-year results
Am J Sports Med. 2008 Feb;36(2):290-777 patients presenting with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency were included in this randomized clinical trial to compare functional and stability outcomes of double bundle and single bundle hamstring tendon ACL repairs. Results from 2 year postoperative clinical assessment indicated that double bundle repair had superior rotational stability, compared to single bundle repair with metal interface screws, and required fewer revisions than single bundle repair bioabsorbable screws.
