The migration patterns of two versions of the Furlong cementless femoral stem: A randomised, controlled trial using radiostereometric analysis
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2010 Oct;92(10): Published Dat1356-62.43 patients scheduled to undergo total hip replacement were randomized to be implanted with either the Furlong Active stem or the Furlong HAC stem. The hip arthroplasties with both techniques were successful with similar oxford hip score and derived pain scores. In the 24 month observation period, it was observed that the Furlong Active stem migrated to a greater extent when compared to the Furlong HAC stem, thus potentially compromising effective osseo-integration and performance.
