Digital Rehabilitation Following Ultrasound-Guided Injection for Chronic Rotator Cuff Injury: Randomized Controlled Trial.

60 patients with chronic rotator cuff injury (CRCI) were randomized to receive ultrasound-guided corticosteroid and local anaesthetic injections followed by either conventional rehabilitation exercises or a Digital Rehabilitation System (DRS) incorporating motion capture and real-time feedback. The primary outcome was shoulder function, assessed using the Constant-Murley Score (CMS). Secondary outcomes included the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Shoulder Scale, Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) for pain, shoulder range of motion (ROM), and system proficiency. Outcomes were assessed at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months. Overall, the results of the study revealed that digital rehabilitation significantly improved shoulder function, pain, and ROM compared with conventional exercises at 3 months. These findings suggested that feedback-guided digital rehabilitation following injection therapy could improve short-term recovery in patients with CRCI.
