Diacerein as adjuvant to diclofenac sodium in osteoarthritis knee
Int J Rheum Dis. 2012 Feb;15(1):69-77. doi: 10.1111/j.1756-185X.2011.01648.x. Epub 2011 Sep 674 patients were randomized to assess the clinical effectiveness of diacerein as an adjuvant to diclofenac sodium for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA). Patients received diclofenac sodium 75 mg once daily with either capsule diacerein 50 mg or matched placebo once daily for the first month and twice daily for the next 2 months. Results at 4 months revealed that the use of diacerein with diclofenac sodium was significantly more effective in improving pain and joint function compared to diclofenac alone.
