Braz J Med Biol Res . 2023 Mar 17;56:e12338.Thirty-six patients with chronic non-specific low back pain were randomized to receive either continuous shortwave diathermy (CSWD) with Pilates-based exercises (n=18) or placebo CSWD with Pilated-based exercises. Outcomes of interest included sensory and affective aspects of pain measured using the McGill Pain Questionnaire, depression & anxiety using the Beck Depression Inventory and Visual Analog Scale, respectively. Pain intensity was also measured using the McGill Pain questionnaire at 3 and 6 weeks, and 3 months following the treatment. All outcomes were similar between the two groups at 3 and 6 weeks, and 3 months.
