Effect of therapist-based constraint-induced therapy at home on motor control, motor performance and daily function in children with cerebral palsy: a randomized controlled study

This study evaluated the effect of therapist-based constraint-induced therapy at home on motor performance, daily function, and reaching control for children with unilateral cerebral palsy. 47 children were randomized to either constraint-induced therapy or traditional rehabilitation for 3.5 hours/day, 2 days a week for 4 weeks. The assessment revealed that constraint-induced therapy led to better grasping performance, daily function, and temporal and spatiotemporal control of reaching in comparison to traditional rehabilitation.
