Improving Patient Satisfaction Through Computer-Based Questionnaires

308 patients from spine, upper extremity, and trauma orthopaedic clinics were recruited to compare electronic-based and paper-based administration of validated orthopaedic patient-reported outcome measures (PSS, FFI, ODI, SF-36) in terms of compliance and patient satisfaction. All outcome measures (except SF-36) displayed comparable results between administration methods, and patients were significantly more satisfied with the electronic-based administration and significantly more likely to complete the forms and answer more questions, than with the paper-based assessments.
