Evaluation of a Computed Tomography-Based (CT) Navigation System Prototype for Hip Arthroscopy in the Treatment of Femoroacetabular Cam Impingement

50 patients suffering from femoroacetabular cam impingement were randomized to receive arthroscopic offset correction using either a computer assisted or non-assisted method. The results from this study indicated that both procedures improved the alpha angle and pain scores; however, no differences existed between groups at an average follow-up of 26 months. This study indicated that the computer assistance did not provide any additional benefits to the surgical procedure.
