This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Comprehensive physiotherapy exercise programme or advice for chronic whiplash (PROMISE): a pragmatic randomised controlled trial
Lancet. 2014 Jul 12;384(9938):133-41. doi: 10.1016/S0140-6736(14)60457-8. Epub 2014 Apr 4.Patients between 18 and 65 years old with a chronic (>3months and <5 years) grade 1 or 2 whiplash-associated disorder were randomized to either undergo a supervised 12-week comprehensive exercise program or receive advice to compare outcomes up to 1 year. Results indicated that pain intensity (during the week prior to follow-up assessments) was not significantly different between groups at all follow-up periods. Furthermore, secondary outcomes measures (except for self-reported recovery at all time points and functional ability at 14 weeks), CNS hyperexcitability, and psychological distress were not significantly different between groups during the study period.
