Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with metal and biodegradable suture anchors: A prospective randomized study
Arthroscopy. 2010 Sep;26(9 Suppl):S112-9. Epub 2010 Aug 6110 patients with full thickness rotator cuff tears were randomized to arthroscopic repair, using either metal or biodegradable suture anchors. The use of metal suture in this repair resulted in slightly better DASH and Constant scores at two year follow-up; however, these values did not reach significance. Work-DASH scores were found to be similar between groups. Univariate analysis revealed that baseline score, age, tear location, and fatty degeneration significantly influenced the clinical outcomes.
