Comparison of a novel porous titanium construct (Regenerex®) to a well proven porous coated tibial surface in cementless total knee arthroplasty - A prospective randomized RSA study with two-year follow-up

61 patients scheduled for uncemented total knee arthroplasty were randomized to a novel tibial tray with a porous titanium surface (Vangaurd Regenerex; Zimmer Biomet), or to a tibial tray with porous plasma spray (PPS) surface (Vanguard PPS; Zimmer Biomet). Patients were assessed for component translation and rotation over a 24-month follow-up. No significant difference between groups was observed in maximum total point motion over the first 24 months postoperatively. The only significant difference in single dimension migration was greater subsidence after 24 months in the Regenerex group compared to the PPS group.
