Comparing outcomes of standard & modified transtibial vs anteromedial portal tunnel drilling in ACLR .

A meta‑analysis on anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: Is modified transtibial technique inferior to independent drilling techniques?

Exp Ther Med. 2018 Sep;16(3):1790-1799. doi: 10.3892/etm.2018.6395

Q Zhang Z Yuan Y Kou

12 studies (prospective cohort studies and randomized controlled trials) were selected for inclusion in this meta-analysis which sought to compare outcomes between the standard transtibial technique (sTT) and independent tunnel drilling technique (ID) in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, as well as the modified transtibial technique (mTT) and independent tunnel drilling. Results demonstrated significant differences in favour of ID groups over sTT groups for outcome in International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) subjective score and side-to-side difference in instrumented anterior tibial translation. Differences between ID groups and mTT groups were not significant for any outcome measure.
