No significant difference in clinical outcome and knee stability between patellar tendon and semitendinosus tendon in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
Arch Orthop Trauma Surg. 2016 Apr;136(4):521-5.62 patients scheduled for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized to undergo the procedure with either an autologous semitendinosus or patellar tendon graft for the purpose of comparing long-term radiographical and clinical outcomes up to 10 years post-surgery. Similar values were observed for several pain, function, activity and patient satisfaction scores at 10 years post-surgery, suggesting that both methods were comparable.
