This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Teriparatide and denosumab, alone or combined, in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis: the DATA study randomised trial
Lancet. 2013 Jul 6;382(9886):50-6. doi: 10.1016/S0140-6736(13)60856-9. Epub 2013 May 15One hundred women with osteoporosis were evaluated to compare the efficacy of teriparatide, denosumab, or combined treatment of both drugs on spinal, femoral, and hip bone mineral density (BMD) at 12 months. They were randomized either to daily 20 ug teriparatide daily, 60 mg denosumab every 6 months, or both. At the final follow up, the combination group had increased significantly in posterioranterior lumbar, femoral-neck, and total-hip BMD compared to denosumab and teriparatide treatments alone.
