2019 COA/ICORS Annual Meeting: Effect of Dexamethasone on Post-Operative Pain Management in Patients Undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty

OE Journal. 2019;7(12):8158 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty were randomized to either receive or not receive perioperative intravenous dexamethasone 0.1mg/kg doses. Patients were assessed for pain scores and narcotic consumption over the first 48 hours after surgery. Results demonstrated significantly lower pain scores and narcotic consumption in the dexamethasone group compared to the control group.
