2019 COA/ICORS Annual Meeting: Comparison of Efficacy of Traditional and Accelerated Ponseti in the Management of Club Foot

260 patients, aged 2 years old or younger, with clubfoot were randomized to receive accelerated ponseti casting (twice per week) or traditional ponseti casting (once per week) for treatment. Outcomes of interest included Pirani score, mean time for correction and the number of casts required. Results found similar final Pirani scores between the accelerated and traditional ponseti groups, although the time to Pirani score <=1 was significantly shorter in the accelerated group compared to the traditional group. The number of casts required was not reported.
