COA 2022: Long Term Efficacy of Rotator Cuff Repair With vs. Without Acromioplasty .
Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with and without acromioplasty in the treatment of full-thickness rotator cuff tears: long term follow-up of a multicenter, randomized controlled trial
57/86 patients completed long term follow up (~11 years) in this secondary study of a randomized controlled trial comparing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with vs. without acromioplasty. The outcomes of interest included Western Ontario Rotator Cuff score (WORC) and the rate of revision. Results revealed no significant differences between the two groups in long term WORC scores. However, the rate of revision surgery was significantly higher in patients who did not underwent acromioplasty compared to those who underwent acromioplasty.
